Ukraine, Russia and The Pathetic State of Western Propaganda
A brash overview of the current Eastern European conflict
One topic I’ve done my best to avoid is a deeper dive on the Russia vs Ukraine saga, if only because doing so in the current all too tribal political climate, could very well induce a headache the likes of which I may never recover from and I am already cranky enough as it is on a good day.
However, it seems the West has begun to ( finally ) sour on the idea of throwing mountains of dosh into the most corrupt nation in all of Europe that is Ukraine, all in the name of an ill defined attempt to “ own the Ruskies “. As an astute observation of a meme I recently glanced at stated “ Isn’t it odd that the ONE country Trump wanted to investigate for corruption is now on the receiving end of a seemingly endless fountain of Western money? “ Very odd indeed.
Let’s make one thing clear though. While the word propaganda carries very negative connotations in the modern day, one would be wise to look at it from a neutral perspective. Instead of viewing it as this nefarious label designed to infect an individual’s mind and distort their ability to view the world objectively and with good reason, think of it more as introducing another angle or tool with which to view and analyse the world, one not nearly as dogmatic and rigid as we’ve been lead to believe. ( And yes, I am well aware of the irony that some would undoubtedly consider my perspective on propaganda itself, to be propaganda ).
Given the current circumstances, evidently the environment is ripe for propaganda on all sides, respectfully. However with that being said, the level of sophistication of Western propaganda during this ongoing affair against Russia, is depressingly primitive. Don’t get me wrong, I am fully aware pushing propaganda level 9 when your civilisation will easily swallow level 3 is admittedly wasteful resource allocation, but for heaven sake. The notion that this scrap of a proxy war is billed as an existential threat to the Western world and that we must defend the territorial integrity of Ukraine or else democracy itself will fall is so embarrassingly fucking cringe, that it has any level of success regardless should be seen as a blight on our civilisation.
Russia’s had previous skirmishes post the fall of the Soviet Union, and they were never labelled as an “ existential threat to democracy “, then, which naturally begs the question: Why the fuck would it be this time around?
But let’s start a little earlier shall we, and look at how on earth did we get here to begin with. One can be forgiven for missing the fact that the US military industrial complex has gone to bed many a night with a raging hard on, fantasising about a head on collision with the Russian foe that they undoubtedly still think of as the Soviet Union. Knowing that, it shouldn’t be all that surprising that they are more than happy to throw Ukrainian lives and US dollars into a meat grinder in a proxy war against Russia, all conveniently whilst sitting pretty in Washington, on a different continent thousands of miles away.
Make no mistake, one version or another of this scenario has been the plan for decades. Cast your mind back to the mid 2010s, before the election of Donald Trump. Hillary Clinton famously said “ the nuclear option should not be taken off the table “ and her request for a no fly zone over Syria was decried as “ alarmingly escalatory “ as implementing it would require thousands of ground troops, heighten the tensions of this already teetering on the brink situation and likely culminate in a show down with Russia, satisfying her psychotic death lust and appeasing the powers that be who are undoubtedly hell bent on world domination and further extending the inaptly called “ liberal world order “.
The Clintonian game plan was clear to see for anyone paying attention, given her disastrous past track record of supporting regime change. Inevitably the Imperial-like minded US war machine would learn nothing from its train wrecks in Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya, knowing full well this blood thirsty maniac being pushed onto the American electorate would gleeful attempt to replicate this failure once again in Syria should her aging claws ever steer the reins of power. Matter of fact Trumps more isolationist style of rhetoric was one of his strong points in his 2016 campaign, pivoting away from the interventionist policies of the Bush era after blasting Jeb Bush in the face for the actions of this dim-witted brother. Good times!
But shortly after his glorious 2016 victory, the media machine would douse itself in LSD, and go to work peddling this bafflingly baseless, insane conspiracy theory that Russia somehow had an instrumental hand in his victory.
It took me all of 10 seconds to look at that, think back to the Iraq war, 911 and the now infamous WMDs to recognise the re-emergence of an old pattern. I thought to myself “ Oh joy, this will be the narrative used to foment anti-Russian fervour. I don’t know why, but it’s nakedly obvious. This is so stupid, no one is going to buy this, get real. “
Looking back at it now, that was an admittedly a foolishly naïve position to take, as the media would drown itself in wall to wall Trump Russia coverage damn near 24/7, over and over again. Yet the intelligence agencies knew it was bunk, Project Veritas with behind the scenes footage showed the media, knew it was bunk. It was all political theatre, a giant psy-op to inculcate into the American mind ( and to a broader extent the Western world overall ), an anti-Russia narrative that when the time was right, the NPC switch could be flicked, and the lemmings would swallow it all hook, line and sinker, no questions asked, as Twitter would become loaded with a bunch of Ukraine flag sporting shitheads who I will bet are not only unable to even point Ukraine out on a map, likely wouldn’t have even heard the country’s name prior to this whole situation unfolding, nor would they even be able to tell you how exactly any of this is objectively in the interest of US citizens. Not a surprise mind you seeing as no one in the fucking mainstream media has ever asked that question, let alone discussed it. Can you see the pattern a little more clearly now? You should.
If you pay a little closer attention to politics, more so than does the average person, you will notice the Western medias attempts at peddling anti-Russian propaganda follows the exact same formula, as pushing propaganda on their own citizens, which is to either dismiss or ignore the views of the opposition, socially alienate them with some kind of a derogatory label ( Putin simp anyone? ), and failing that? Invoke Hitler, because the only fucking reference these plebeian minded mongs ever have is Nazi Germany.
If that’s your final retort then my word is our civilisation going down the tubes. Not only does it show a lack of historical knowledge, but the comparison is horribly inadequate.
Putin is not Hitler. The man did not attain power after his nation suffered humiliating defeat, endured punishment at the hands of historic victors, declare himself supreme leader when an opportunity arose to do so, and then looked to gobble up all Russian speaking nations after the fall of the Soviet Union.
So to invoke Hitler considering it’s the West that’s been expanding towards Russia’s border, is flexing single minded arrogance of the situation at best, or a dim-witted and poorly thought out historical comparison at worst.
Speaking of Western expansion, this brings us neatly to yet another perspective you’re borderline forbidden from discussing: NATO. If you’d like to witness an expertly handled inception of this topic in the US press, look no further than Matt Lee’s magnificent recent mauling of Pentagon spokesman John Kirby. After he simply pointed out that NATO’s been expanding towards Russia’s border and not the other way around, the pathetic cretin that is Kirby desperately tried to deflect this indisputable fact, as a “ Putin perspective “.
A swift mind would pause to reflect and recognise what this mealy mouthed sputtering exchange really represents: A perfect example of just how fucking stupid our so called “ leaders “ really are in the face of the most mildest of push backs.
A piss poor deflective reply, as this perspective was shared by George Kennan, the US diplomat who designed the Soviet containment program for the Cold War, who lamented the first NATO expansion after the fall of the Soviet Union in the early 1990s, slamming the US government and stating very clearly, that Russia would to see this expansion as provocation and ultimately, would respond militarily. All of this took place several bloody years before Putin was even in power!
After the United States decided to for some reason bollock around in Russia’s backyard by overthrowing the Yanukovych government in Ukraine in the 2014 Euromaidan coup ( and after they selected and installed a “ Pro Western “ government, the current monkey who thinks he’s president’s son was sitting on the board of an energy firm in Ukraine with no prior experience in this field whatsoever, tis a mystery why Biden would be pro Ukraine ), internationally renowned political science expert Professor John Mearsheimer said in 2015 that the West was leading the Ukrainians down the prim rose path, deluding them with the false promise that they could become part of the West, giving them an injection of pseudo-testosterone fuelled confidence that they can play hard ball with Russia. A destined to fail strategy that would no doubt cement their nation’s demise.
But let us return briskly to NATO, or as I like to accurately call it the “ North American Territorial Occupation “, as that is what it’s become. It went from a post World War II defensive military treaty, to post the fall of the Soviet Union, morphing into an entity that facilitates American imperialism in Europe. ( And yet many Americans remain baffled as to why so much of the world can’t stand them. )
There’s a reason why Germany, following the implementation of the Marshall Plan following the end of the World War 2, is 2nd only to Japan, in terms of hosting an American military occupational force on its territories, and so enters the next point of discussion: The Nordstream pipeline.
If you’ve got some time to spare, I recommend looking up an interview with Yvegeny Fyodorov, Russian Duma Deputy of the United Russia Party. He lays out very clearly in a neutral, objective manner, the nation vs nation principle at play, as well Russia’s position for supporting the Nordstream pipeline and American opposition to it. As I’ve stated prior, two of the mandatory staples a nation needs is defence and energy. Outsourcing either, means those who provide them, maintains some form of power and or leverage over you.
America for all of their boisterously bravado like bluster, is absolutely terrified of German industrial might, but more specifically independent of America, German industrial might. It does not want to see a resurging German powerhouse rise in Western Europe, and most certainly it does not want to see it powered by cheap and plentiful Russian energy, with America gaining nothing as the German economy would roar back to life. Considering the large occupational American force stationed on German soil, supposedly there to “ protect Europe “ against a mythical invasion from Russia, it would make no sense whatsoever to kick up funds to a so called “ defensive alliance “ that’s purported to protect you against the very nation that you’re developing a healthy reciprocal business relationship with.
The Nordstream pipeline in this scenario represented a silver boon. An opportunity not only for the Russians and the Germans to forge a healthy nation to nation relationship, but also show Europe that Russia is not an entity to fear, but is in fact a bogeyman propped up by American made propaganda designed to justify the existence of an outdated NATO, which would naturally, threaten the necessity of NATOs existence, and thereby weaken the vice like imperial grip of Americas relentless tentacles in Europe.
Suddenly the prime suspect for the sabotage of Nordstream becomes rather obvious now doesn’t it? It was the Americans, clearly, who damaged not only a vital piece of European infrastructure, it was a NATO ally’s infrastructure. Under any other circumstances this act would be seen as a declaration of war. It also shows other so called “ American allies “ what it means to be “ friends “ with America. The ringing immortal words of Henry Kissinger “ To be an enemy of America can be dangerous, but to be a friend is fatal “, can be heard loud and clear, apparently echoing through the reverberating sounds of underwater explosions.
If you have any niggles of doubt that this was an intentional step likely years in the making, go look up Condeleeza Rice in 2014 saying the Russian economy was vulnerable, seeing as its main exports are oil gas and minerals, and it would be oh so beneficial for the US to wean Europe off of Russian energy exports, and instead buy from Americas plentiful bounty. Now whether or not this is economically beneficial to the European consumer ( it’s not, as the current situation shows ), the American regime does not give a flying fuck, because in the grand scheme of things this relationship is not a reciprocal one, it’s all about raw power and furthering their tyrannical grip and influence over European nations. Not to mention Biden vying to put a stop to the Nordstream pipeline, and when pressed by a reporter as to how he would go about doing that, he simply replied ever so ominously: “ We’ll get it done “
By some miracle of divine coincidence I am so sure, the Nordstream pipeline was put out of commission, spawning a massive environmental disaster that you might have noticed, no green revolution fucking hippy even so much farted over. Apparently even Mother Nature herself can be side skirted as collateral damage as long it’s done under the pretence of pissing off a nuclear superpower.
Given all of the above then, I am forced to ask an increasingly glaring question: How much more of this clear as day bullshit are we required to swallow before we may spit at their insultingly arrogant faces with a dual showing of middle fingers and a reflexive “ fuck off “ ?
Hearken back to my earlier mention of the propaganda tactic deployed by the Western world being one of either ignoring the concerns of the opposition or hamstringing them through social alienation. Domestically, this process is akin to throwing petrol on an already ever growing fire. On the other hand, inadvertently exporting this process internationally when you’re dealing with a potential foreign adversary? Sweet Jesus are you handing them a nuclear arsenal and a half..
The most casual of observers can spot the Western world in its current form is a cultural dumpster fire, the culmination of decades of reality defying stupidity paying dividends in the form of civilisation decline. It’s bleeding cultural decay and tragically, damn near all of it stems from self inflicted wounds. One of America’s biggest exports is undoubtedly her culture, which has quite evidently become tainted with her idiotically suicidal brand of politics, or as we in the meming world call it, “ The Current Thing “. This ensures that said tainted idiocy gets shipped abroad as it seeps in wherever it’s consumed like a poison. This process is largely created and speedily amplified by technology, which also makes it a widely noticeable phenomenon.
America of course, despite many of her citizens considering free speech a foundational cornerstone of the American experiment, must concede that the US Constitution remains but a piece of paper. The nation itself is run by deluded psychopaths who abhor the very concept of open dialogue. One needn’t look further than Elon Musks’ Twitter files for confirmation of this. Her politicians today are not the direct descendants of the Founding Fathers. They are humans of the 21st century, who will act accordingly to the interests and power paradigms of the modern world, not the 18th century. Hearing from the opposition in their world view would undoubtedly undermine their desires and goals, and given this is how they’ve dealt with every domestic problem for well over a century, it should come as no surprise then that once again, they will try and stifle the perspective of any opposition, even on an international scale, and especially during war time. A keen eye would be wise to use this manoeuvre to show the world, that while one can enshrine a philosophical perspective into the law of the land all you want, but if there happens to be no cultural appreciation for it passed down through the ages, its eventual death should hardly come as a surprise.
With all of this taken into consideration, this strategy of Western aversion to open dialogue, bestows upon Russia a golden treasure trove of Pro Eastern propaganda. All Putin has to do is look towards Ukraine, take note of the authoritarian jester who while purporting to “ defend democracy “ rapidly moved to cast it aside and outlaw political adversaries, show the video of him dancing in unison with other grown men, donning shiny female leather attire and say “ this is on our doorstep “, and his best propaganda tactic is executed. The best propaganda he has available to him, is the West’s own degenerate behaviour.
It hardly takes a genius ( I pray I am never wrong on that part ) to finger why the West tries to shut off any perspective emanating from Moscow. The irony of Western media though decrying it as “ state sponsored propaganda “, as if they don’t do the exact same thing, as they move to censor information born in their own nations, is comically absurd at best, and shamelessly hypocritical at worst.
If one were to listen to Putin speak about the West, his tone is most unusual considering the childishly simplistic spin of trying to portray him as this demented mad man. His rhetoric versus the West doesn’t sound nearly as adversarial as you’d think, frankly it sounds more like pity than hostility.
Once again, the current cultural state of the West gives Putin oodles of ammo to make his case in an understanding, borderline amicable manner. If Putin came out and said “ Look at the state of our Western brethren, a lack of appreciation for the Christian order has caused their minds to rot as they spiral off into the depths of insane depravity. They claim God is “ gender neutral “ Their women are too scared and broken to even define womanhood, they decry marriage and have no children. Their men are deprived of masculinity with no goals or perception of their own role or value. Their children aren’t allowed to keep their innocence! Their own government’s push radical gender indoctrination, encourages experiments on their children and uses them as guinea pigs while pharmaceutical industries grow wealthy on this inhumane demonic misery! This is what they push on the world!
He could even amp this further and say “ But always remember, our enemy is their elites, not their citizens. Many of them will agree, and even fight alongside us, as they wish to save their nations of this festering disease as much as we wish to stave it off from reaching Russia. They claim to live in free countries, yet will be branded as heretics for even trying to understand our perspective, let alone be seen sympathising with our cause. Russia is not their enemy, we are but a convenient scapegoat for their elites as they continue to pillage and loot their own lands, poison their people and wreak havoc on their God given social order.
If he said anything remotely akin to that, we’d all be sitting there, side eyeing each other, comparing him to our dementia riddled bed wetting excuse for a Western leader and say “ My God he sounds fantastic doesn’t he? “
Whether or not it’s propaganda or even sincere is irrelevant, the only question to ask is: Is it true? And the answer is a glass house pilloried with the sounds of smashing stones yes.
I'd love to paper Berkeley with posters for a Spoon public appearance and speech just to watch the warmongering Commie hippy fascist protestors go bananas
Yesterday I called for a pint after work and was immediately branded a "Putin Puppet" for pointing out that Ukraine is the the most corrupt country on the planet, and that Putin is indeed the "Child Catcher" from chitty chitty bang bang, I was bemused by that as I don't watch MSM.
However when I pointed out some of the things you mentioned in your article I was told "Don't believe anything on the internet" .
It's obvious that we are fighting stupidity, alas there is no cure for that, especially amongst middle aged men.
